Eckley M. Keach

Mr. Keach was raised in rural South Carolina.  A lifelong Gamecock, he attended the University of South Carolina where he worked his way through school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1977.  After graduation, he joined the Merchant Marines as a member of the Seafarers International Union (SIU).  Mr. Keach worked in the engine room on tanker ships hauling oil, gas and fuel from ports in the Gulf of Mexico to ports on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.

In 1980, he began law school and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1983 with a Juris Doctor degree. He passed the South Carolina Bar in 1983.  Upon graduation, Mr. Keach moved to Nevada and clerked for the Hon. Richard Legarza for one year.  In 1984 he passed the Nevada Bar and began working as a Deputy District Attorney in Las Vegas under then District Attorney Robert Miller.  During his two and one half years in the Criminal Division, Mr. Keach tried over twenty five cases to jury verdict, obtaining convictions in all of his trials, including two capital murder cases.

In 1987, Mr. Keach began working with former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.  Although Mr. Goodman’s practice was limited to criminal cases, Mr. Keach created and ran a civil practice.  His first day on the job, February 2, 1987, Mr. Keach took his first civil case. A child had become permanently disabled from an adverse reaction to a vaccine.  That case went to the Nevada Supreme Court and made new law in the area of products liability.  The reported case is ALLISON v. MERCK AND CO., INC., 100 Nev.762, 878 P.2d 948 (1994).  In September 1996, Mr. Keach was featured in the National Law Journal for his innovative work involving the scope of jurisdiction in internet related cases.
Mr. Keach obtained his first Million Dollar jury verdict in 1995 in a case involving a young woman who suffered two broken legs in a car accident.  Mr. Keach got his second Million Dollar jury verdict two years later in a case against the Mirage Hotel and Casino.  There, the jury awarded Six Million Dollars ($6,000,000.00) to a man who was beaten while a guest at the hotel. Since that time, the million dollar verdicts and settlements have continued.  Mr. Keach has been involved in over two dozen cases in which he has obtained verdicts or settlements for his clients over a million dollars, including paid settlements of $19,000,000, $10,500,000, and $10,000,000.

Mr. Keach has been honored with numerous awards and recognitions over the years including an AV rating from Martindale Hubell, being named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association, being designated a Preeminent Lawyer by LexisNexis Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and being named a Super Lawyer.

Since 2002, Mr. Keach has worked together with Mr. Murdock to obtain the best possible results for their clients.  In 2011, they became partners.
